Our primary service is consulting the yacht buyer during the search and purchasing  process of the yacht.  These services include the following:

• Your consultant will work closely with you to help you find the perfect yacht for your needs, whether you are an experienced owner or new to boating.
• We will travel ANYWHERE to examine the boats you are most interested in so you can get a true unbiased boat to boat comparison…something you won’t get from brokers.
• Finally, we will assist you throughout the purchasing and relocation process.

We also offer other consultation services for the yacht owner at an hourly rate.  These include but are not limited to maintenance issues, yacht relocation, documentation, trip planning, sail inventory and more. If you own a boat of any size and need advice or answers, we can help!

How we differ from a “Buyer’s Broker”, or any broker for that matter:

A buyers broker is simply a broker that represents the owner with the finding and purchasing of a yacht in his or her local area.  They then split the commission with the listing broker.  At WWYC, we offer a lot more than a regular broker can.

Brokers can only personally help you with vessels in their local travel area.  This means that you will have a different individual representing you everywhere you look.

With WWYC you will work with the SAME consultant no matter where in the world the yacht lies.  This way we can help you compare and contrast all of the yachts equally and unbiased. 

Buyers brokers only get paid when you buy a vessel through them since they split the listing broker’s commission.  This means that a broker is extremely motivated to only help you buy a boat in HIS or HER area that HE or SHE finds.   This creates an environment that is not conducive to a truly unbiased look at the yacht.  Ultimately, the buyers broker still receives his or her paycheck from the seller.  So who do you think they REALLY work for, you or the seller?

At WWYC, we work for YOU and are paid by you.  We will go ANYWHERE on your behalf to help you find your perfect yacht , not just one that is in our area or is convenient to us.  Since we receive payment directly from the you, wherever the yacht lies you are guaranteed bias free consulting as we help you find your yacht.

Buyers brokers receive a split commission upon the sale from the seller.  The industry standard is 10% of the sales price split between the buyers broker and listing broker.  It is in the best interest of both brokers to receive the highest sale price and therefore convince you that “this is the boat for you”.

With WWYC, you negotiate the price directly with the listing broker. We can help advise you, but with you completely at the helm of the financial end of the transaction, you can be assured you are not being misled in an attempt to raise our commission.

Buyers brokers will not assist in a purchase from a private seller without having them sign a contract listing them as the broker (making them both the listing AND buying broker, a serious conflict of interest!) since that is the only way they will get paid.

With WWYC, we can work directly with a private seller since we are paid by you.  Many sellers won’t list with a broker because of the high commissions they have to pay out of the sales price therefore costing them profit.  If your dream yacht is being privately sold, you can save some serious money!

So, yes it’s true that you can use a buyer’s broker to represent you at no additional cost.  Or you can simply buy from the listing broker directly.  But either way, you really get what you pay for.  Bottom line, remember that a broker’s job is to sell you the boat, not to tell you what you need to know to make an informed choice about whether or not a particular boat will meet your needs at a price that is reasonable.  WWYC has only YOUR best interests at heart.  It doesn’t matter where your dream yacht is found, whether it’s in your back yard or across an ocean.  You work with the same professional consultant throughout the entire process and our only objective is your happiness and satisfaction.
